In summer 2010, I bought a stunning candle—a bust of the Buddha, pearl white and 12" tall by 12" wide at the base. With his head bowed and his eyes closed, the Buddha is peace. The following New Year, I created this blog to share something beautiful every week until this candle has burned through. Finding the time to meditate to burn this candle is hard, let alone photographing/ posting on a weekly basis. But I have made this vow to myself, because beauty persists in this world, no matter what.

Peace and Love Sustain Us
The world may seem hazy right now, upside down even,
but if we look deeply at our reflection,
we see the beauty that always surrounds us,
and we feel the peace and love that sustain us.
