In summer 2010, I bought a stunning candle—a bust of the Buddha, pearl white and 12" tall by 12" wide at the base. With his head bowed and his eyes closed, the Buddha is peace. The following New Year, I created this blog to share something beautiful every week until this candle has burned through. Finding the time to meditate to burn this candle is hard, let alone photographing/ posting on a weekly basis. But I have made this vow to myself, because beauty persists in this world, no matter what.

All of Life Shines
I spent much of my time over the past two weekends at the baseball fields.
The sky was clear and the sun illuminated each of my two boys at play.
A visit to Idylwilde Farm left me in awe of the hibiscus in the parking lot, their petals wide open as if to embrace me.
Back home I spent some quiet time tending to all my house plants...
...some faring better than others but all of them forgiving and responsive to my TLC. All of life shines when you take the time to notice it, tend to it, and love it.
