In summer 2010, I bought a stunning candle—a bust of the Buddha, pearl white and 12" tall by 12" wide at the base. With his head bowed and his eyes closed, the Buddha is peace. The following New Year, I created this blog to share something beautiful every week until this candle has burned through. Finding the time to meditate to burn this candle is hard, let alone photographing/ posting on a weekly basis. But I have made this vow to myself, because beauty persists in this world, no matter what.

Nature Comes Together
This past Tuesday my sons and I took a short trip out to Gloucester and were humbled by beautiful landscapes such as this one that we encountered during our walk along Atlantic Avenue.
During dinner we watched as the sunset tinged the landscape pink.
The next day, at Singing Beach in Manchester, we walked on the dry sand and tuned in as it squeaked, much like a dolphin, under our bare feet. We admired the patterns the ocean imprinted on the wet sand, not unlike an underwater coral scene.
Perched on one of the small cliffs flanking the beach, I thought about all the beauty that nature is capable of when it comes together in harmony. Nature presents itself to us and reminds us how connected we are to one another.
