In summer 2010, I bought a stunning candle—a bust of the Buddha, pearl white and 12" tall by 12" wide at the base. With his head bowed and his eyes closed, the Buddha is peace. The following New Year, I created this blog to share something beautiful every week until this candle has burned through. Finding the time to meditate to burn this candle is hard, let alone photographing/ posting on a weekly basis. But I have made this vow to myself, because beauty persists in this world, no matter what.

Freedom Awaits
Today, as I hiked the Acorn Trail at Great Brook State Park, I gave my attention to the weeds.
Dandelions, ragwort, buttercups and bluets made quite a scene as they covered whole fields en masse.
As I walked alongside these little flowers, I felt wild and free.
